ALL SCHOOL NO SCHOOL January 15th

I was excited to see us jump right in where we left off, we are looking forward to a great second semester; I also want to send out a welcome to the many new kiddos that joined us, welcome to the San Tan community.

Thank you to everyone that participated in our 2017 Arizona Tax Credit program; we are continuing to tally the final totals. However, initial numbers coming in show that we came extremely close to our goal. These monies go to help out with daily extracurricular and charter activities that many of you have come to expect from San Tan.

Our New Year Paper Drive has begun, because of this great drive San Tan has never had to spend funds to buy paper thanks to all of our families! The front office will be keeping track of reams of the white ream paper brought in for each teacher. Please drop off reams of paper with your teacher’s name on it; the winning class will receive a pizza party and a $125.00 school supply gift card. Let the paper drive begin!

Preschool – 12th grade School Enrollment packets for the 2018/2019 school year will go out later this coming week. Please pay special attention to the return date of the packets, missing the deadlines could place your family into the school lottery. With five kiddos myself, I know how cumbersome this packet can be, please carve out time to complete it in its entirety along with any additional items needed. If you have a sibling that you would like to attend next year, please contact the school office so that we can send additional paperwork home at 222-0811. Summer camp enrollment will be out in March.

BOX TOPS! We should be getting our first check very soon from the first half of the year. The good news is it’s $429.20! Free money to the school. (insert cheering noise here)

Let’s step it up Roadrunners! Collection sheet attached – print and fill it up with non-expired Box Tops ONLY please. Bonus certificates please collect in a plastic bag or envelope and send them in to the front office.

Our total last year was $1,657 so we have a HUGE opportunity to beat that and bring money (did I say FREE money) to the school!

San Tan Multicultural Fair will be Friday, January 25th. As a community, we are so excited to introduce and spotlight the wonderful cultures and traditions represented among our San Tan community. We need your help! If you are interested in participating please using the sign up genius link.

When? Science Fair is open to the public in the San Tan Gym from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM

It is time for our annual Charlie Brown Thanksgiving celebration. Wednesday, November 22rd from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, we invite you to stay on campus and join us in our 11th annual celebration. During the event we welcome families to bring in your own lunch and enjoy time with your friends. As part of the giving community that is San Tan we ask parents to donate desserts for all to share. Please remember all items need to be nut free. To sign up to bring donations or to sign up to help the day of the event please use the sign up genius link: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0945a8ae2fa3fb6-charlie. We will need many helpers the morning before the event to prepare. We look forward to another fun filled celebration.

On Thursday, November 9th, San Tan Charter School will pledge to be drug free with a red out; please send your kiddos to school in red. Students will gather on the field at 10:AM for a balloon launch. We have arranged for a drone with a camera to be flying overhead taking pictures of the whole event. After the launch students wearing red will be asked to stay on the field, will be organized into a ribbon shape on the field as the drone takes a group picture.

Come join us this Thursday, November 9th for San Tan Basketball Madness at 6:00PM! This is a fun way to kick off the season. All of our basketball teams will play a 10-minute scrimmage and in between games both kids and adults in attendance will have an opportunity to participate in fun basketball competitions. The varsity basketball team will also have a slam dunk contest and a team three-point shooting contest. Don’t miss out on your first chance to see all of our teams in action as the San Tan Varsity team gets ready to win back-to-back state championships.

If you are interested, please provide your info on our Sign Up Genius at http://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0945a8ae28a2fb6-elementary. If you are new to the program, please attend one of our training sessions on September 7, 2017 at 9 a.m. or 6 p.m. When signing up on the above signup link please add if you will be able to attend the 9am or the 6pm training session. If you can’t attend please email Mrs. Errington if you have any questions. If you have volunteered before, we still encourage you to attend to share your expertise and meet new members!
